Tax Internship Summer

WEC Business Services LLC, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a May 2027 Intern – Tax in our Milwaukee or Green Bay, Wisconsin location. This position offers flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement (remote/on-site) with time spent in the office. This internship is full-time during the Summer of 2027 with the potential to work part-time during the subsequent academic year(s).

The hourly rate for this position is $21.30 with paid company holidays.

The Tax team is responsible for the overall corporate tax function for all of WEC Energy Group's entities, including federal and state tax return preparation, tax audit administration, tax accounting for SEC filings, estimated tax payments, tax software administration, support for forecasting and rate cases, and overall tax planning for the organization. This position is responsible for assisting in any area of the tax function as needed.

The position requires strong analysis, decision making and problem solving skills. An ability to work as part of a team and interact with others is key.

• Gain knowledge of the complex area of Tax
• Learn and become proficient in tax software as needed
• Assist in the preparation of various federal and state tax return compliance
• Assist in the process of estimating all taxes in support of the company’s financial forecast which in turn supports earnings guidance and certain regulatory filings
• Support the tax audit administration as needed (i.e. collect and summarize data)
• Support internal control compliance as needed to ensure accurate tax accounting. This would include monthly tasks, such as account reconciliations, but also other quarterly and annual requests

• High School Diploma, GED, or HSED
• Currently enrolled full-time pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Analytics, or closely related major with a graduation date after June 2027
• Minimum GPA of 2.8

• Microsoft Suite experience (Excel, etc.)
• Prior experience in Accounting or Finance
• Prior experience with process improvement/automation (Alteryx)

Pay Range Minimum
: $21.30

Pay Range Maximum
: $24.60

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs.

At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
