We have a vacancy in our Racine, WI Veterans Benefits Department for an Administrative Support Assistant. You will support an attorneys and staff as a member of the team in this administrative law firm. Each of our clients are individual Veterans who have applied for disability benefits through the Department of Veterans Affairs and are seeking our assistance in obtaining approval.
Specific job duties include but are not limited to:- Process daily mail
- Telephone communication with clients
- Download Veteran's military files
- Audit files in our CRM for consistency and accuracy
- Prepare correspondence with clients, government and administrative agencies
- Prepare and review appeals and evidentiary documents for submission to the Department of Veterans Affairs
- Legal, medical, government, and administrative research
- Maintain and manage documentation in the firm’s case management software
- Other duties and administrative tasks as requested/assigned from attorneys and management
Qualifications:
- Highly organized and attentive to detail.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Ability to problem solve and make practical decisions.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
- Above average spelling, grammatical, and proofreading skills.
- Ability to maintain professionalism, client confidentiality, and a positive attitude.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Well-versed with computers and Microsoft Office software.
- Efficiency, flexibility, independence, and patience.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
Important:
This position operates within a fast-paced, high-volume
environment and employees are expected to maintain a steady cadence throughout each workday.
Veterans are strongly encouraged to apply!Experience in working with the Department of Veterans Affairs or other federal government agencies is a plus. We will provide training on our case management software, but proficiency with computers is required.
This is a full-time position working approximately 40 hours per week. $20-23/hour DOE.
