A well-established Milwaukee-area commercial general contractor is seeking an experienced Estimator to join its preconstruction team. In this position, you'll be a key contributor during the earliest phases of project development. You'll analyze plans, evaluate materials and labor costs, and work closely with design and operations teams to develop precise, competitive estimates. Your work will directly influence project strategy, helping ensure each proposal aligns with client expectations and the company's high standards.

• Develop detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bid proposals for commercial construction projects
• Review drawings and specifications to identify scope, risk, and constructability considerations
• Solicit, evaluate, and coordinate subcontractor and vendor pricing
• Collaborate with project management and field teams to ensure scope clarity and smooth project transitions
• Participate in value engineering and risk analysis discussions to strengthen project outcomes
• Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and design partners to stay current on pricing trends and innovations
• Support the preconstruction team with strategic bid packaging and proposal presentations

• 5+ years of estimating experience with a commercial general contractor
• Strong knowledge of building systems, materials, and construction methods
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
