58 is looking for an experienced Political/State Capitol Reporter to cover local and national politics. In this role, you will generate compelling, innovative and timely stories, create and maintain a network of contacts, validate and determine the credibility of news leads, and write and produce quality news stories for multiple media platforms.

• Create and maintain a network of contacts.
• Validate and determine the credibility of news leads.
• Write and produce quality news stories for multiple media platforms.
• Deliver strong live reports and excel in breaking news assignments.

• Experience covering local and state government news.
• Clear understanding of various laws and fluency in the use of government records and the state and federal open records acts.
• Ability to give strong live reports and produce fair, balanced and accurate reporting.
• Must live in or be able to relocate to Madison, WI.
