Optometrist

Northwest Eye Physicians is seeking a medically focused Optometrist (OD) to join our established hybrid MD/OD practice. This is a full-time position in a privately owned practice that has proudly served the Arlington Heights community for over 50 years.

Our practice is unique—one of very few in the state with an on-site surgical suite—and is built on a collaborative team of physicians and staff dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care.

The Optometrist will play a key role in comprehensive eye care, surgical co-management, and patient education within our medical optometry setting.

• Perform comprehensive eye exams using optometric equipment and diagnostic interpretation
• Prescribe glasses and contact lenses
• Initiate surgical consults by educating patients on available procedures and referring to the appropriate MD
• Assist with postoperative care and follow-up for surgical patients
• Provide excellent customer service and patient-centered care
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule with other physicians (no hospital call required)

• 5+ years of optometry experience
• Active Illinois state optometry license
• Experience in a hybrid MD/OD practice or surgical setting preferred
• Medical residency preferred
• Strong interest in growing a patient base through networking and positive patient experiences
