Grad Adjct Instructor - Public Service

Marquette University is hiring a part-time adjunct instructor/lecturer to teach a section of PUBS 6230:
Legal Issues in Public Service in the spring of 2026. This role is part of the Department of Educational Policy and Leadership.

Position Overview

Under the direction of the department chair and director of graduate studies, the instructor will perform the following duties:

  • Plan and teach weekly classes
  • Evaluate student learning using appropriate assessment methods
  • Maintain and submit accurate and current records concerning student accountability, attendance, and performance
  • Maintain a student-oriented approach to education
  • Provide opportunities for individual consultation and feedback for students in the course
  • Provide frequent communication with students on their progress in the course
  • Uphold professional and ethical standards and adhere to University policies and procedures
Requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Masters Degree preferred or substantial progress toward the terminal degree
  • Excellent oral and written communication and proficiency
  • Knowledge of legal issues in the social service sector

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • PhD highly preferred or Master’s degree and substantial experience with legal issues in the social service sector
