Job Summary:
Delivers effective program instruction using specified evidence-based curriculum, while providing group and educational services for participants of the prevention program and coordination of parenting meetings.
Grant funded:
Temporary position, continuation of employment is contingent upon renewal of grant.
Job Responsibilities:
- Effectively deliver evidence-based curricula for program participants, reinforcing age- appropriate language and medically accurate instructional strategies.
- Obtainandprepareprogrammaterials.
- Conduct virtual sessions with youth and families as needed.
- Trainneweducatorsonevidence-basedcurricula.
- Assist Program Manager in reviewing themost current CDC,NIH, and stateand local vital statistics to ensure program materials adhere to medical accuracy.
- Ensureenrollmentformsandattendancedataareenteredinto
OPTSinatimelyfashion. - Assistthe Program Manage rand Program Implementation Specialist inidentifyingandsecuringprogramsitestohosteducationalprogramming for project youth.
- Provideservicesusing atrauma-informedapproach,reinforcing positive youth development. Screen fortrauma exposure and refer forservicesas needed.
- Assistincoordinatingandhostingspecialeventsthroughoutthecommunity.
- Prepare reportsas requiredanddevelopandmaintainprojectresources.
- Attendtrainings,communitymeetings,andeventsasdirectedbysupervisor.
- Followallrequirementsandguidelinesofprogramfunderundertheguidanceofsupervisor.
Experience:
- Atleastoneyearofexperience in public speaking, teaching/grantfacilitation,and experience and comfortlevelworkingwithrepresentativesfromagencies, community-basedorganizations,and youth.
- Atleast oneyear ofproven experience in the deliveryofyouthworkandyouthwork-led programmingfor young people between theages of 4-18.
- Knowledgeofyouthdevelopmentprinciplesandeffectiveteachingstrategiesrequired.
- CPR Certification (Adult,Child, and Infant) preferredorattendandsuccessfully complete certification within the first six months of employment.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Health, Sociology, Social Work, Human Services and/or Education preferred.
Skills:
- Abilitytomaintain professionalworkingrelationshipswithotherteammembers, school personnel, community providers, and stakeholders.
- Abilitytoworkwithindividualswithdiversecultural,ethnic,andsocialgroups.
- Must becomputerliterate withaworking knowledge of
Microsoft
Officeandthecapability to learn new data management processes. - Stronginstructionaltrainingskillspreferred.
- Demonstratedknowledgeandabilitytoworkindependentlyandasateammember.
- Abilitytomanagetimeefficientlyandmeetdeadlines.
- Must have a valid WI driver’s license, good driving record, and meets state-required automobile insurance minimums.
