We are offering an exciting opportunity for high school students interested in building their leadership skills. This fellowship is designed to help you grow as a leader through hands‑on training, team collaboration, and mentorship from professionals in the field. Fellows will serve as an ambassador for LIT at your school and for LIT chapter in your school. Fellows will help lead and plan LIT chapter meetings at school and help plan citywide meetings for the organization.
Requirements:- Must commit to working 8 hours a week
- Must be enrolled in a Milwaukee Public Schools
- Must attend school in person (At least 6 hours a day)
- Must have reliable transportation & communication (Bus tickets and rides can be given upon timely request)
- Must have the ability to talk to new people (classmates, teachers, etc)
- Must be willing to attend in‑person events and meetings with safety protocols in place
The fellowship program is a PAID 11‑week leadership development program that will run from September 21st and will end on December 5th. September 21st will be orientation day and is mandatory in order to become a paid fellow.
Expectations and Duties- Outreach + event planning (2 hours/week)
- Weekly chapter meetings (1 hour/week)
- Meetings (1‑1s) with potential members (1.5‑2 hours/week)
- Leadership Development – 30%
- Weekly fellow trainings ( 1.5 hours/week)
- Citywide meetings (3‑4/semester)
- School Board meetings (1/month)
- Weekly check in with supervisor (1 hour/week)
- Voter Engagement – 10% of the fellowship
- Voter registration events (at least 1 per semester)
