In This Role, You Will

Be an exceptional collaborator and team player, have a deep understanding of scientific thinking, methodology, and principles within the content area, and an ability to connect with and inspire students. We are particularly interested in educators passionate about working in a diverse education setting as a part of a high‑performing, driven staff. Ideal candidates will also be well‑versed in strategies to promote metacognitive engagement and be willing to go the extra mile for students.

Candidates should be organized, detail oriented, and show expertise in developing lesson plans.

Academics
  • Deliver rigorous, engaging instruction and ensure every learner meets or exceeds academic goals.
  • Implement individualized and small‑group instruction by adapting the 9‑12 curriculum to meet the needs of each pupil.
  • Use academic data to modify whole and small‑group instruction.
  • Plan and deliver instruction: develop and implement rigorous, standards‑aligned lesson plans for various high‑school science courses.
  • Foster scientific thinking: guide students in conducting careful observations, analyzing scientific data, and evaluating evidence across disciplines and real‑world contexts.
  • Facilitate laboratory work: develop, set up, and supervise hands‑on laboratory experiments and demonstrations, ensuring proper safety protocols.
  • Differentiate learning: adapt instruction, materials, and assignments to meet varied learning needs, including those with IEPs or ELL status.
  • Evaluate work: assess student writing, reading comprehension, and oral presentations using clear rubrics and providing detailed feedback.
  • Maintain records: accurately record and report student attendance, grades, and progress in compliance with policy.
  • Ensure safety: maintain a safe, orderly, and productive classroom and laboratory environment and train students in safety regulations.
