CLINICAL EDUCATOR RN
Froedtert Health, Milwaukee, WI – Froedtert Hospital facility.
Job Type: Full‑time, Shift 1 – 0800‑1600 (flexible). Holidays:
None. Weekends:
None. Status:
On‑site. FTE: 1.00. Standard
Hours:
40.00 per week.
This role supports the Resource Pool by assessing learning needs and performance/competence of staff in assigned clinical areas. In collaboration with key stakeholders, the Clinical Educator designs, develops, implements, and evaluates education using best available evidence to meet identified learning needs, including onboarding, competency, regulatory, professional development, and just‑in‑time education. Acts as a collaborative partner and educational leader, facilitator, instructor, subject matter expert, change agent, mentor, consultant, and advocate.
Works with the System Educator‑RN to identify and develop specialty‑area education, deploys Froedtert Health system education/programming at the local/specialty department level, and teaches classes/courses as assigned. Adapted from the Association for Nursing Professional Development (ANPD) Scope and Standards of Practice, 3rd Edition (2016). Other duties as assigned.
• Minimum three years of recent applicable clinical practice as a Registered Nurse.
• Experience in an informal or formal leadership capacity (e.g., Preceptor, Charge RN, Governance Council Chair, etc.).
• Experience applying adult learning principles and instructional/curriculum design (preferred).
• Experience precepting or training in a clinical setting (preferred).
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (required). Master’s degree in Nursing with a focus on Education, Adult Education, Organizational Development, or a related field (preferred).
Special SkillsProficient in Microsoft Applications and general computer skills (required).
LicensureCurrent Wisconsin Registered Nurse license or a multi‑state Nursing license from a participating state in the NLC. AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) or an AHA‑approved equivalent required within 90 days. Nursing Professional Development (ANPD) certification or Master’s in Nursing Education, Adult Education, Organizational Development, or related field required within 3 years of hire.
