The ideal candidate will be an exceptional collaborator and team player, have strong knowledge of physical education pedagogy, and demonstrate a commitment to fostering physical literacy, wellness, teamwork, and sportsmanship across grade levels. We are particularly interested in educators passionate about working in urban education as part of a high-performing, mission-driven staff.
Ideal candidates will also be well versed in strategies that promote student engagement, perseverance, and a growth mindset, and will be willing to go the extra mile for students. Candidates should be organized, detail oriented, and skilled at planning developmentally appropriate lessons that support all learners.
- Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate, standards-aligned physical education instruction 6th-8th grade students using high-quality curricular materials, instructional best practices, and a balanced approach that builds motor skills, fitness, teamwork, and healthy habits.
- Foster physical literacy, wellness, and sportsmanship through engaging, active, and inclusive lessons that promote movement, skill development, collaboration, and a lifelong appreciation for health and fitness.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs, providing whole-group, small-group, and individualized support while using academic standards, fitness benchmarks, and student data to guide planning and adjust instruction.
- Monitor, assess, and document student learning and physical development through formative and summative assessments, using results to track progress, inform instruction, and improve student outcomes in fitness, skills, and cooperative play.
