Responsibilities
  • Promote the Gilbane Cares safety culture.
  • Ensure contractor activities are preplanned for safety through scope review, preconstruction meetings, JHA review, STA reviews, etc.
  • Ensure contractors meet Gilbane safety submittal requirements.
  • Ensure contractor compliance with Gilbane safety plan & expectations.
  • Maintain all safety related documentation.
  • Make recommendations concerning situations hazardous to employee safety or health.
  • Utilize Safety Net to audit and monitor project team implementation of the Safety Plan.
  • Perform at least 15 Safety Net inspections per month with at least 100 observations per inspection.
  • Provide safety training to project teams on Gilbane, client, and OSHA requirements.
  • Investigate all accidents/near misses and complete all required paperwork.
  • Ensure project teams have safety equipment and resources.
  • Serve as project liaison and manage project correspondence with insurance carriers.
  • Coach and mentor less experienced team members.
  • Support a positive and inclusive work environment.
Qualifications Experience / Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety Management or Engineering preferred.
  • 3–5 years of construction safety management experience.
  • Previous experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing facility construction highly preferred.
  • ASP, CSP or CHST credential highly preferred.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Proficient knowledge of construction safety principles, techniques, and methods.
  • Practical knowledge of OSHA laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Capability to identify potential exposures and recommend corrective action.
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
