Safety Specialist

The Safety Specialist supports the day-to-day safety, environmental and health functions of the organization. This position works closely with the Director of EH&S, another Safety Specialist and cross‑functional teams across the organization.

• Coordinate and monitor all aspects of the worker’s compensation program.
• Work with HR on medical providers to ensure proper care and facilitate employees’ return to work for Workers Comp/FMLA.
• Receive, inform and record accident and injury reports/records for all buildings.
• Work with managers to accommodate employees on restricted Work Comp duty.
• Maintain OSHA 300 log for annual posting and other reporting.
• Coordinate and create all aspects of safety and OSHA training programs.
• Participate as a member of the risk assessment team and safety committee team.
• Conduct safety audits in accordance with OSHA regulations in all buildings.
• Complete record keeping monitoring effectiveness of training program.
• Recognize hazards to identify conditions or actions that may cause injury, illness or property damage.
• Involve with fire/tornado drill, fit testing, hearing testing, and forklift record keeping.
• Maintain a working knowledge of current and impending EH&S regulatory requirements for federal, state and local agencies such as OSHA, EPA, WIDNR, PADCNR, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Associates and/or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• 3+ years of safety experience, strongly preferred.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proven leadership skills.
• Ability to operate a computer and Microsoft Office, required.
• Local travel required.
