Role OverviewThe Safety Specialist supports the day-to-day safety, environmental and health functions of the organization. This position works closely with the Director of EH&S, another Safety Specialist and cross‑functional teams across the organization.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Coordinate and monitor all aspects of the worker’s compensation program.
- Work with HR on medical providers to ensure proper care and facilitate employees’ return to work for Workers Comp/FMLA.
- Receive, inform and record accident and injury reports/records for all buildings.
- Work with managers to accommodate employees on restricted Work Comp duty.
- Maintain OSHA 300 log for annual posting and other reporting.
- Coordinate and create all aspects of safety and OSHA training programs.
- Participate as a member of the risk assessment team and safety committee team.
- Conduct safety audits in accordance with OSHA regulations in all buildings.
- Complete record keeping monitoring effectiveness of training program.
- Recognize hazards to identify conditions or actions that may cause injury, illness or property damage.
- Involve with fire/tornado drill, fit testing, hearing testing, and forklift record keeping.
- Maintain a working knowledge of current and impending EH&S regulatory requirements for federal, state and local agencies such as OSHA, EPA, WIDNR, PADCNR, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Associates and/or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- 3+ years of safety experience, strongly preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proven leadership skills.
- Ability to operate a computer and Microsoft Office, required.
- Local travel required.
