Position Overview: Fabick Cat is a leading provider of power generation solutions, specializing in the installation, maintenance, and repair of generators up to 3000 kW.
Responsibilities- Perform commissioning, maintenance, and repair of CAT power generators up to 3000 kW, including those powered by natural gas, biogas, and diesel.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and reliability of generators.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues with generators and related equipment.
- Perform load‑bank testing and other diagnostic procedures to assess generator performance.
- Maintain accurate records of service activities, including work orders, maintenance logs, and parts inventory.
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers regarding generator operation and maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations and company policies during all service activities.
- Collaborate with other technicians and team members to resolve complex technical issues.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in power generation.
- Interact with commercial customers to understand their needs, provide solutions, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in electrical or mechanical engineering preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the maintenance and repair of power generators (50 kW to 3000 kW).
- Strong knowledge of CAT generator systems, including diesel and gas engines, electrical components, and control systems.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong communication and customer‑service skills.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various job sites.
- Knowledge of control panels and switch gear is a plus.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and tools.
- Comfortable working in various environments, including outdoor and industrial settings.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights as needed.
- Technician travel will be within Wisconsin and the territory surrounding the branch of hire. Average of 45 hours per week, with additional overtime offered if desired. Less than 15% of time spent on overnight travel annually.
