The Design and Development Engineer at Diversatek Healthcare will be a key member of the product development team. This Engineer is involved with the entire process of bringing a new medical device to market. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual that can independently drive deliverables to completion and collaborate with team members. They will utilize skills to solve technical problems in a hands-on manner.

The candidate applies skills and knowledge to contribute to the commercialization of new products.

Responsibilities New Design and Process Development Duties
  • Develop new medical devices from concept through product design to commercialization. Throughout the development process plan, design, and build prototypes to explore device design possibilities.
  • Assist in the development of new manufacturing processes to support new products.
  • Participate in quality system activities, including design controls, risk management, design verification & validation, test protocol development and product detail documentation.
  • Train and/or provide work direction to technicians and less experienced engineers.
  • Lead development project sub-teams to the successful completion of project goals.
Ongoing Product Life Cycle Support
  • Research and incorporate new materials and components for existing devices when supply chain disruption or change occurs.
  • Complete product engineering change orders (ECO’s) to update and/or revise product design technical documentation.
  • Write, execute or oversee the execution of product testing protocols to validate new product materials and/or suppliers.
Minimum Qualifications
  • BS in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering
  • Required minimum years of work experience (primary in product design/development): 5-8 years.
  • Strong background in mechanical engineering with experience in medical device design preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with AutoCAD, and Inventor CAD systems.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Clinical knowledge and experience with gastrointestinal system disease states.
