Field Service Technician

Overview

Field Service Technician to join our team. This is a hands-on role focused on commissioning, quality control, and customer technical support for Manufacturing equipment. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, mechanically and electrically skilled, and motivated to deliver exceptional service to our customers while ensuring equipment meets our high-quality standards.

Job Title: Machine Commissioning and Service Technician

Salary: $80,000 - $85,000 + Benefits

Base pay range: $80,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr

Shift Pattern: M-F, travel to client site required. Up to 60 days a year. Travel will be M-F (no weekends) and expenses fully paid for.

Industry: Machine Manufacturing

• Download to PLCs and HMIs, commission systems, and perform service/repairs, including working with high-voltage panels, sensors, motors, and controls.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical components to identify and resolve issues.
• Inspect machinery for quality compliance and provide corrective feedback to assembly and engineering teams.
• Submit Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) for equipment or process improvements.
• Collaborate with customers and internal staff to provide installation support and training.
• Commission, function test, and conduct quality control checks on all new equipment.
• Administer schedules, coordinate factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT).
• Deliver technical training to customers and distributors.
• Provide high-quality technical phone support and maintain service call logs.
• Assist with product testing, trade show setup/teardown, and related machine functions.
• Travel required:
  
  approximately 25 - 50 days annually.

• Strong hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Proficient in reading mechanical assembly drawings and electrical schematics.
• Skilled in troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical systems.
• Possess a complete mechanical and electrical tool set.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to travel and perform some heavy lifting.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
