Our client in manufacturing is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join their team near Milwaukee, WI. In this role, you will be mentored and trained in high-frequency magnetic design, building your skills toward designing and developing custom transformers, inductors, and chokes for power electronics. You’ll work with a range of magnetic materials and construction methods to deliver high-efficiency, manufacturable solutions that meet global safety standards.
This position offers the opportunity to contribute across the entire product lifecycle – from initial requirements gathering to prototype and production – while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams as well as customers. -based design and manufacturing team.
- Design magnetic components for power electronics (1–500 kHz range)
- Develop with ferrite, Sendust, powdered iron, and other core materials
- Perform simulations and modeling
- Optimize designs for efficiency, thermal performance, and manufacturability
- Ensure compliance with UL, IEC, and other safety and performance standards
- Work with customers to understand requirements and translate into designs
- Collaborate on prototyping and cross-functional design reviews
- Produce and maintain BOMs, drawings, test plans, and spec sheets
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering required
- 3+ years of electrical product design and/or development experience required
- Foundational knowledge of magnetics and switch-mode power supply required
- Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar modeling tools required
