Senior Site Civil 3D Designer at HDR

Responsibilities- Work closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers and a multi‑discipline design team on a daily basis.
- Support the design and production of site civil construction documents for Federal, Power, Architectural, Water/Wastewater and Industrial Clients.
- Model and draft site civil design improvements in Civil 3D, including site survey, layout, grading, drainage, storm‑water management systems, roadway, erosion and sediment control, landscaping and site utilities.
- Model both gravity and pressure pipe networks.
- Manage the setup and development of design projects in Civil 3D to ensure proper file and layer management; mentor and train other site civil staff.
- Support the development of construction drawings in Civil 3D to align with HDR and client CAD standards.
- Develop Civil 3D designs for BIM execution plans and coordinate with BIM discipline leads for compliance.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of site civil design concepts such as earthwork, surfaces, grading and pipe networks.
- Manage multiple tasks and project deadlines concurrently in a fast‑paced team environment with strong coordination.
- Maintain an active participation in our employee‑owned culture.
- Mentor and develop the Digital Design staff within their discipline.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Autodesk Civil 3D Certified.
- Experience with Navisworks, Micro Station and Open Roads.
- Local candidates preferred.
- Technical degree or equivalent education and experience.
- Minimum of 10 years related industry experience.
- Advanced 3D design software and document management skills.
- Advanced 3D coordination tool skills.
- Competency in Microsoft Office and communication tools.
- Advanced understanding of engineering or architectural concepts.
- Knowledge of industry standards, codes and specifications.
- Excellent communication, attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Leadership and mentoring skills required.
Compensation range: $70,193 - $100,275 (St. Louis Park, MN). Benefits include medical, dental, vision, short‑ and long‑term disability, life insurance, an employee assistance program, paid time off, parental leave, paid holidays, a retirement savings plan with employer match, referral bonus and tuition reimbursement.
