We are seeking a skilled and motivated Building Commissioning Agent to join our expanding commissioning practice in our Milwaukee office. This role provides the opportunity to work on a variety of project types, including new construction, retro-commissioning, and facility assessment analysis.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement commissioning plans, including preparation and review of the Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR), verification of the Basis of Design (BOD), and participation in design and construction submittal reviews.
- Create commissioning specifications, construction verification checklists, and functional performance testing protocols.
- Participate in project team meetings and coordinate commissioning process requirements and schedules.
- Conduct site visits, review construction progress, complete pre-functional checklists, and observe integrated systems testing for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, controls, and building envelope systems.
- Document and maintain issues tracking logs throughout all project phases.
- Prepare progress and final commissioning reports.
- Perform retro-commissioning and existing building assessments to identify energy inefficiencies and operational issues.
- Manage multiple projects, track commissioning schedules, and support quality assurance throughout the project life cycle.
- Assist in business development and proposal preparation, including fee development and client relationship building.
- Provide mentorship and support to less experienced staff.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Active commissioning certification (e.g., ACG, ASHRAE, BCxA, University of Wisconsin).
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience in building commissioning, focusing on MEP systems in commercial or institutional settings.
- Strong knowledge of building codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE 202, 230, 0, 1.1, 1.2).
- Proficiency in commissioning software (Facility Grid, CxAlloy, CxPlanner, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office).
- Experience with BAS controls operation and troubleshooting.
- Experience leading a team of professionals.
- Experience in project management and business development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Licensed Professional Engineer and/or active LEED certification.
- 5+ years of experience designing building Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and/or Fire Protection systems.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Product Suite (Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks).
