Sr VDC Coordinator role s job opportunity is available at ANY location in the United States. Ideally, selected candidates will be near a Jacobs U.S. based office, but we intend to hire the best candidates. This is an on-site role at our Baton Rouge, LA site location.

• Design and provide technical design leadership of systems for data center buildings including Commercial DAS, Public Safety DAS, LMR, Site Radio, RoIP, Wi-Fi and Tower Studies.
• Lead wireless telecommunications design efforts from preliminary assessments through drawing and specification production.
• Coordinate with BIM designers to create drawing packages and with AHJs, Radio System Owners, and carriers.
• Contribute to DIV 27 specification creation or modification; conduct site visits and review technical documents.
• Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders and ensure projects are completed on time.

• Design Wireless systems in iBwave and EDX.
• Coordinate with BIM designers to create drawing packages.
• Coordinate with AHJs, Radio System Owners, and carriers.
• Prepare or modify DIV 27 specifications.
• Conduct site visits and review technical documents.
• Manage the relationship with internal and external stakeholders.

• Technical or associate’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience actively designing wireless telecommunications systems, including:
  • LMR 2-way radio (outdoor LMR, Site Radio, RoIP)
  • Public Safety DAS systems
  • Commercial DAS systems (OTA DAS, Neutral Host DAS, DRAN DAS)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience with iBwave, EDX, Atoll, LMR Planner or similar modeling programs.
• Experience with troubleshooting wireless systems and working with clients to identify wireless needs.
• Understanding of Noise Floor, SNIR, Return Loss, and VSWR.
• Knowledge of NFPA 72, NFPA 1221, NFPA 1225, IFC 510, Carrier KPIs, IBC, FCC Part 20/90, FCC OET Bulletin 65.
• Familiarity with Navisworks.
• Strong project management skills and ability to coordinate with multiple disciplines, managers, and clients.
• Experience in creating and maintaining project budgets and schedules; risk identification and mitigation.
• iBwave Level 2 Certification required.

• Experience designing Wi‑Fi systems.
• EDX or Motorola design certifications; FCC GROL; NICET Design Certification.
• Electrical Engineering or Communication Engineering degree; EIT or PE.
