This position is part of a job family (PG Construction Manager and Senior PG Construction Manager) where experience will be the determining factor.

Job Summary

This position supports the Engineer/Project Manager in interfacing with the project's general contractor and/or with our partner engineering firm(s). This position provides direction, coordination, and guidance to employees and contractors engaged in construction activities. The Construction Manager is responsible for assisting in the implementation of major, moderately complex field construction and engineering projects. Their areas of responsibility include project planning, execution, control and close out for the management of engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and turn over to the customer.

Job Responsibilities
  • Performs as a resident site member of the owner's project team.
  • Participates in a collaborative relationship with members of the team including the owner's staff, contractors, suppliers, landowners, agencies and others.
  • Ensures that all construction activities are performed in accordance with environmental permits, regulatory requirements, laws, leases, right‑of‑ways, and other agreements.
  • Establishes and maintains working relationships with the municipal agencies, regulatory agencies, key local individuals, landowners, and the public at large that promote the positive image of the Project and the Company.
  • Ensures the daily general activities of contractors and suppliers are in accordance with the terms of their respective contracts and the Project schedule.
  • Ensures suppliers meet technical specifications by managing receipt inspection and quality control and assurance processes.
  • Oversees management of equipment storage and maintenance.
  • Coordinated the development of project schedule. Participates in the coordination of the activities of all site participants in order to achieve optimum efficiency and best schedule results (constructability reviews). Monitors, measures and reports to the Engineer/Project Manager on work in progress.
  • Assists as an Owner's representative to lead and enforce a proactive safety program in concert with the contractor (and its subcontractors) and/or engineering firm(s)
  • Participates with the project team in developing, monitoring, and proactively achieving budget and cash flow goals.
  • Ensures that the work in progress is inspected in a timely manner and is substantially consistent with the issued drawings and specifications.
  • Responsible for management of the Quality Control Inspection Program (QCIP) as applicable.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, project management, construction management or related field is preferred, with a minimum of 5 years of construction experience or related experience such as plant operations or maintenance. Significant experience in construction, plant operations or maintenance will be considered in lieu of a degree.
