The Role:As a Magnetics Design Engineer, you’ll design custom transformers, inductors, and chokes that solve real‑world power conversion challenges. You’ll work across the full spectrum of magnetic technologies‑ferrite, powdered iron, nanocrystalline, amorphous, Sendust‑and multiple construction methods (bobbin‑wound, toroidal, planar). Every project brings new technical puzzles to solve.
What You’ll Do- Design high-frequency magnetic components for sophisticated power electronics applications
- Master electromagnetic simulation tools (ANSYS Maxwell or equivalent) while continuously learning emerging technologies
- Drive innovation in thermal management, efficiency optimization, and manufacturability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on complex electrical, mechanical, and compliance challenges
- Lead prototype development, testing, and validation
- Create detailed technical documentation and specifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering (or related field preferred)
- 5+ years designing magnetic components for power electronics
- Strong foundation in magnetic materials, core losses, winding techniques, and insulation systems
- Experience with FEA and electromagnetic modeling tools
- Knowledge of relevant safety standards (UL, IEC)
- Hands‑on experience with thermal management and derating practices
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Inventor
