Position: Estimator (Heavy Civil)

Estimator (Heavy Civil) – Right Works Inc
• Milwaukee, WI, United States

We are searching for an experienced Estimator specializing in heavy civil projects, particularly roads and bridges, on behalf of our client. Our client is a reputable general contractor specializing in heavy/highway, civil, and industrial construction. If you possess the necessary expertise in estimating for such projects, we would like to hear from you.

This position reports to the Vice President of Estimating.

Responsibilities
  • Calculate statistical data:
    Quantity take-offs, material prices, labor costs, and equipment.
  • Research historical data for estimating guidelines.
  • Contribute to project update and bid package documents.
  • Maintain working document files.
  • Monitor conceptual estimates with actual cost data.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by the supervisor.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of additional relevant experience can substitute for the degree.
  • 5+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Mandatory knowledge of construction materials and the ability to recognize material designations (e.g., W section and HP section).
  • General knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and effective teamwork capabilities.
  • Proficiency in performing mathematical extensions and interpreting engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost coding systems.
  • Proficiency in using Bluebeam and MS Excel.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Consistent, dependable, diligent, and thorough work ethic.
  • Adept at problem-solving and finding solutions.
  • Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply.
