What You Will Contribute:

Make an Impact Through Hands-On Testing and Innovation At Badger Meter, we innovate at the intersection of water technology and data. As an Engineer I – Hydro Lab Test, you’ll play a key role in validating the performance and reliability of products used by customers around the world.

We are seeking someone with an Test Engineering background and a passion and interest in testing and problem solving.

You’ll work alongside experienced engineers to design and execute test solutions, improve lab systems, and contribute to product development from concept through validation.

What You’ll DoPerform performance and compliance testing on flow meters, sensors, and communication products

Support the design and development of test setups, control systems, and automated data acquisition tools

Collect, analyze, and interpret test data to inform product performance and quality decisions

Develop and maintain test procedures, work instructions, and documentation

Troubleshoot and support existing lab equipment, hardware, and software systems

Assist in defining test plans, scope, and timelines for engineering projects

Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Project Management teams

Contribute to continuous improvement of lab capabilities and testing methods

What You Bring

Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering,Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to take initiative and work both independently and within a team environment

Effective communication skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications Internship, co-op, preferably 1–2 years of experience in engineering, testing, or lab environments

Exposure to programming or automation tools (e.g., Python, PLCs/Allen-Bradley)
Familiarity with data acquisition systems, instrumentation, or lab testing equipment

Basic understanding of software development concepts and data analysis methods

Experience working in a manufacturing or product development environment
