University Recreation Special Events Staff

This role is physical/manual labor intensive and requires lifting, pushing, and setting game/event equipment in place for events held in the Klotsche Arena.
Must be able to work*:
- Mon-Fri (1:30pm-4:00pm and 7:30pm-10:00pm)
- Sat-Sun (varying from 8:30am-11:00am and 4:00pm-6:30pm to other similar time frames that match game schedules).
* Shifts are created on an as needed basis that matches game/event schedule.
Pay: $11.00/hour
*** We are currently interviewing for FALL 2025! Schedules will begin early October 2025 and will match athletic competition scheduling and special events. (All trainings will be done beforehand). Employment will continue for Spring 2026 and pause for Summer***

Special Events provides a flexible schedule for staff to work part-time during Athletic Competition (basketball, volleyball, track & field, etc.) events held at the Klotsche Center on UW-Milwaukee's campus. Special Events staff will be responsible for the safe and efficient setup and tear down of all equipment in Klotsche Center Arena. Setup and tear down include, but are not limited to, portable and automatic bleachers, courtside seating, scorer's tables, and audio equipment.
Qualified applicants will be independent workers who are able to work in a physical, fast paced, team environment. Physical/manual labor is required. Applicants must be able to safely lift, move, and set 50 pounds repeatedly. Physical labor experience is preferred but not needed. Special Events is an entry level job at UREC and are required to learn various procedures that help execute and coordinate precise program planning for operations.
