What You’ll Do
- Supervise the Accounting Team in the performance of daily functions, providing mentoring and coaching
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable and fixed assets
- Oversee customer invoicing processes including review of invoices, ensuring all revenue is correctly recognized and reported
- Supervise the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close process
- Prepare and analyze monthly Financial Reports including balance sheet, income statement, cash forecast and related supporting schedules
- Review journal entries and account reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with government grant filing and reporting requirements
- Supervise internal and external inquiries of financial information for auditors including gathering support and documentation for various audit requirements
- Assist in budget and forecast preparation, analysis and updates
- Assist in development of accounting policies and procedures
- Support tax filings and audits
- Own the financial and accounting modules within the ERP system
- Ensure records are detailed and organized for audit readiness
- Establish efficient, effective, and standardized processes while also reviewing for process improvements in the accounting area
- Ensure the integrity and effectiveness of internal financial controls
- Conduct and support ad hoc requests and assignments as assigned
- Manage and develop direct reports from the accounting team
- Administer company policies such as time off, shift work and inclement weather that directly impact employees
- Complete required administrative tasks (timecard approvals, time off approvals, expense reports etc.)
- Coach and guide direct reports to foster professional development
- Participate in the recruitment process and retention strategies to attract and retain talent, as needed
- Address performance gaps, employee questions and concerns, and partner with HR as needed for resolution
- Other duties, as assigned

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field with 4+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance; OR
- Associate’s degree in Finance or related field with 6+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance
- Prior people management experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- ERP (SAP) or similar financial system knowledge
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Prior experience working with Pharmaceutical, Bio‑tech or Manufacturing industry
- 1‑2 years of people management experience
- Strong influencing, collaboration, oral and written communications skills
