About The Role
As a PWM Academy Branch Consultant, you will be a visible member of the Private Wealth Management team providing support for our PWM Academy initiative. The ideal candidate should possess industry experience and the desire to support branch leaders, financial advisors, and branch support associates via individual and team consulting and facilitated learning during all phases of team and associate development.
The individual must be high-energy, reliable, possess strong critical‑thinking and problem‑solving skills, and enjoy working in a fast‑paced environment – and be able to work collaboratively with other associates across PWM and the Firm. This position requires working from a Baird office 3 days per week.
- Guide branch leaders, financial advisors, and support associates in identifying appropriate academy learning and development opportunities.
- Provide coaching to Financial Advisors on a variety of team related topics including team formation, team dissolution, succession planning, adding talent, compensation, communication, and team foundation building.
- Facilitate the due diligence process with Financial Advisors exploring teaming/partnership both with new advisor trainees and experienced advisors.
- Lead the succession planning process with teams, including advising on talent needs and facilitating team conversations to transition knowledge from the retiring advisor to the successor(s) to ensure business retention.
- Support the Financial Advisor Training Program via team workshop facilitation, and lead follow‑up meetings with teams after the program ends.
- Partner in development of team and team leader program content for Financial Advisors and their teams.
- Facilitate teams‑related content around communication, generations, high‑performing team behaviors, and high‑performing team playbooks.
- Facilitate High Performing Team summit breakouts and cohort follow‑up sessions.
- 3–5 years financial services experience.
- Experience confidently interacting with advisors in a consulting capacity.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Workshop and group facilitation skills.
- Critical thinking and proactive problem‑solving skills, especially as it relates to people‑related opportunities and issues.
- Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) Exam, Series 7, and Series 66 or Series 63 and Series 65 licenses or willingness to become licensed.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with the ability to learn and effectively navigate Baird’s Private Wealth Management technology platforms.
- This is an in‑office position that requires a minimum of 25% travel.
- Associates in Baird branches will be considered for this opportunity but will be required to work hybrid in office.
