Finance & Accounting Specialist
$65k - 90k/year – Hybrid (Wauwatosa, WI) – Full-Time
This is a hybrid position, all candidates must be able to work onsite at our Wauwatosa or Germantown, WI offices as needed.
BIM Technology Management (BIMTM) is hiring a Finance & Accounting Specialist to help strengthen and streamline our financial operations as we continue to grow. This role will work closely with our Accounting Director and leadership team to bring structure, accuracy, and clarity to our financial systems, reporting, and processes.
We are currently implementing Unanet ERP
, building project-based financial workflows, and refining how we track performance across multiple service lines. We need someone experienced, organized, and proactive who can manage the day-to-day financial operations while helping us build for the future.
This position has the potential to grow into a more senior or executive-level financial role over time, once the foundation is established and trust is built within the organization.
Key Responsibilities Financial Management- Support development of annual budgets, forecasts, and cash flow planning
- Prepare monthly financial reporting packages and KPI summaries for leadership
- Assist with refining project-based costing and margin analysis
- Help ensure financial accuracy across departments, including sales, operations, and project teams
- Manage AP, AR, invoicing, payroll processing, reconciliations, and month-end close
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with GAAP
- Assist Accounting Director with year-end financials and tax preparation coordination
- Monitor billing cycles and ensure timely collections
- Support the Unanet ERP implementation
, including data validation, workflow setup, and team adoption - Improve and standardize processes across invoicing, timekeeping, expense reporting, and financial controls
- Strengthen cross-department communication around financial expectations and timelines
- Partner with Operations to improve project tracking, forecasting, and financial visibility
- Support pricing models, estimating structures, and service profitability analysis
- Identify workflow bottlenecks and recommend improvements
- Assist leadership with financial modeling and scenario planning
- 5–10 years of experience in finance, accounting, or financial operations
- Strong understanding of GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, and project costing
- Experience in construction, engineering, or other project-based industries is a significant plus
- Experience with Unanet ERP or similar systems is highly preferred
- Strong communication skills; able to work across operations, accounting, and leadership
- Comfortable in a growing small-business environment with evolving processes
- Experience with ERP implementations or system transitions
- Background in professional services or consulting organizations
- Ability to create structure, documentation, and scalable processes
- Familiarity with KPI reporting and financial dashboards
