We are seeking a detail‑oriented and highly skilled Accounting Manager to support the organization’s financial operations. This position is ideal for a hands‑on accounting professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys owning processes end to end.
This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports. The position is based in Milwaukee, WI, with a hybrid work arrangement (typically 2–3 days onsite per week).
International experience or exposure (such as foreign currency, multi‑entity consolidations, or cross‑border transactions) is considered a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial results.
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and audit requirements.
- Maintain and monitor the general ledger, accruals, prepaid schedules, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions.
- Support consolidation activities and assist with foreign subsidiary reporting if applicable.
- Oversee account reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
- Assist in preparing management reports, financial analyses, and variance explanations.
- Partner with cross‑functional teams (FP&A, Operations, HR, Supply Chain) to support business initiatives and provide financial insights.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and international accounting requirements where applicable.
- Participate in optimization of ERP modules and financial systems.
- Evaluate existing processes and help modernize workflows, templates, and reporting tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CMA preferred but not required.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.
- Experience in multinational or multi‑entity environments preferred (e.g., foreign currency, consolidations).
- Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a hybrid environment.
