Employment type:
Full-time (FTE: 1.0). Standard hours: 40.00 per week. Shift: Flexible 7:00 am‑6:00 pm, one day per week remote. Holidays:
Weekends.
This is a hybrid role.
Job SummaryThe Transplant Financial Services Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the processes that ensure the financial viability of all transplant cases as patients flow through the continuum of care. This role coordinates the work of the Transplant Financial Liaisons (TFL) and Transplant Insurance Verifiers (TIV), provides financial information and assistance to patients, serves as educator, advocate, and liaison to the healthcare system and payors, and collaborates with Finance, Patient Financial Services, Admitting‑Insurance Verification, Contracting, and other regulatory determinants that may affect the financial viability and business growth of the Transplant Center.
The coordinator performs TFL duties 50% of the time and is also responsible for processing invoices and tracking payments.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Transplant Financial Liaison or similar role within a solid organ transplant program.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, or Health Administration is required. Absent a bachelor's degree, a combination of related education and experience may be considered.
- Leadership training is preferred.
- Exemplary customer service and strong interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of health insurance terminology, billing, managed care contracting, Medicare and Medicaid entitlements, and hospital reimbursement principles.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and coordinate project tasks with hospital and other stakeholders.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks while working in a team environment.
- Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Kronos, and UNET.
- Proficient in office automation, including word processing, spreadsheets, and electronic mail.
