The Respiratory Care Graduate role transitions a new graduate into a Respiratory Care Practitioner position post‑graduation. The individual will work directly with a preceptor, gaining competence with all equipment, modalities, and clinical patient assessments required for caring for patients in the hospital setting. The role provides direct patient care under hospital policies, procedures, and the core values of Froedtert.
Responsibilities / Experience- Successful completion of a course of study in Respiratory Care is required.
- Preferable clinical experience in hospital, home care, or skilled nursing facility.
- Work with a licensed RCP under supervision to become fully competent in equipment use, modalities, and patient assessment.
- Adhere to hospital objectives, policies, and procedures while displaying core values.
- Associate’s Degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program – required.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program – preferred.
Membership in the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) is required.
License- Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license issued by the State of Wisconsin within 120 days from graduation.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required;
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred. - Failure to meet requirements may result in corrective action as per policy FH‑HR.001.
