We are looking for a Part‑Time Physical Therapist Assistant to act as the patient's partner throughout the restoration of motion and ensuring that the client functions at their personal best. Will maximize quality of life and movement potential within promotion, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, intervention, and rehabilitation.

Schedule:

15‑25 hours available;
Productivity expectation 88%;
One location;
Primarily Medicare Part B/Outpatient.

• Demonstrate skill in the use and proper choice of physical therapy techniques and treat patients effectively with good response.
• Maintain and enhance patient dignity and modesty during treatments.
• Show appropriate therapist‑patient rapport, explaining treatments and discussing reasons for occupational therapy.
• Follow accepted precautions and contraindications for treatment.
• Utilize appropriate therapeutic techniques.
• Provide accurate and timely patient records.
• Complete daily documentation procedures ensuring all services are appropriately accounted for clinically and for billing.
• Communicate and document significant changes in patient progress and accept modified treatment plan as needed.
• Document equipment provided, home programs and handouts, and all communication with physicians and POA concerning patient's status.
• Communicate with others maintaining a professional attitude to assure quality care.
• If directed by the Physical Therapist, contact physicians as needed to clarify diagnosis or orders, change treatment, or discharge.
• Consult the patient's POA, nurses, social workers, occupational and speech therapists, and physicians as appropriate.
• Notify facility personnel and family about use of equipment.
• Attend patient‑related meetings in accordance with facility policy.
• Demonstrate knowledge of insurance guidelines related to applicable rehabilitation services.
• Perform all other duties and functions necessary for efficient, economic, and quality operation of the department.
• Project and maintain a professional appearance.
• Make suggestions for department improvement and assist in development as appropriate.
• Demonstrate leadership qualities utilizing support personnel where appropriate to perform activities not requiring a licensed Physical Therapist.

Physical Therapy Assistants must possess an Associate of Science degree from an accredited institution.

Physical Therapy Assistants must be licensed in the state of practice by the Board of Physical Therapy and must provide an acceptable criminal background check.
