The Patient Access Representative (PRN) is responsible for greeting patients or guests in a friendly and courteous manner. The Patient Access Representative is also responsible for the check‑in and check‑out functions by obtaining accurate patient demographic information, financial information, and insurance information, obtaining necessary signatures, and collecting co‑pays. The Patient Access Representative must maintain a neat, professional appearance and an organized work area.
Shift: PRN, Night‑shift
Job Responsibilities- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with patients, visitors, physicians, and staff.
- Greet patients and guests with a cheerful demeanor, displaying professionalism and compassion.
- Determine necessary services and direct patients accordingly with medical registration, admitting, and scheduling.
- Collect demographic information and ensure proper signatures for billing accuracy.
- Maintain logs of patient information and manage phone inquiries professionally.
- Manage office supplies and maintain a clean and welcoming environment.
- Collect payments via cash, checks, and credit card for co‑pays and account balances.
- Maintain an accurate financial ledger and perform daily reconciliation of patient accounts.
- Assist in maintaining the overall cleanliness of the facility, including patient areas and restrooms.
- Interact courteously with patients, families, physicians, and team members, upholding the Emergency Center's company’s core values.
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- 5 years of previous Healthcare / Insurance Verification in an emergency department hospital setting.
