Lead Medical Support Assistant

Job Title

The incumbent provides leadership and oversight to subordinate Medical Support Assistants (MSAs) assigned to outpatient clinic areas within the Medicine Division.

Responsibilities include:

• Assigning, monitoring, and evaluating the work of subordinate staff.
• Ensuring accurate processing of all patient movements between VISTA and CPRS, verifying orders, and confirming adherence to established procedures.
• Resolving complex operational issues to ensure patient care needs and organizational goals are met.
• Assessing new products, equipment, and systems and recommending improvements to operational workflows.
• Identifying training and educational needs; participating in staff interviews and contributing to selections.
• Evaluating employee performance and initiating appropriate administrative actions when required.
• Conducting Weingarten meetings and proposing disciplinary actions as necessary.
• Approving leave requests and monitoring leave balances with appropriate follow-up.
• Attending training sessions and participating in medical center-level initiatives.
• Extracting, analyzing, and reporting data to support performance measures for senior leadership.

Work Schedule:

7:30am to 4:00pm, Monday - Friday
