Country Travel Discoveries is seeking an organized, resourceful Tour Planner with strong operational skills and a passion for creating exceptional group travel experiences across the U.S. and around the world.
This role is responsible for the full lifecycle of assigned tours, from itinerary development and supplier negotiations to budgeting, traveler communications, and operational execution. The ideal candidate combines strong project management skills, sound business judgment, creativity, and a passion for travel.

What You'll Do- Design engaging CTD tour itineraries, including routes, attractions, hotels, and experiences.
- Collaborate with receptive tour operators for international tours.
- Research new destinations and identify fresh tour opportunities.
- Build and manage relationships with hotels, attractions, transportation providers, and tour partners.
- Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors.
- Develop and manage tour budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure financial accuracy.
- Create traveler documents and pre-trip communications.
- Brief Tour Directors and serve as a key internal resource for assigned tours.
- Conduct site inspections and evaluate destinations, hotels, and experiences.
- Support marketing with itinerary details, highlights, and supplier images.
- Stay informed on destination trends, travel updates, and industry changes.
- Assist with reservations support during peak periods as needed.
- Experience in travel, hospitality, tourism, or tour operations.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. and international geography, including familiarity with cultures, social customs, and travel considerations of various destinations and countries.
- Strong organizational skills and close attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence negotiating with vendors and managing relationships.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Positive, team-oriented mindset with strong accountability.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally 4-10 weeks per year.
- Valid driver's license.
- Participate in a balanced team on-call rotation, including periodic weekend coverage.
- Degree in Travel, Tourism, Hospitality, or related field preferred; equivalent industry experience considered.
