Help Desk Consultant

UWM Help Desk Level 1 Consultant Position

The UWM (University of Wisconsin Milwaukee) Help Desk is looking for Level 1 Consultants.

• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills - We are looking for people fluent in English, both speaking and writing.
• Interest in learning about technology and a powerful desire to work
• Interest in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues – We are willing to train people on UWM specific software and applications.
• Experience working with people in a customer service setting on the phone, via email, and in person – We are looking for people who enjoy helping customers primarily over the telephone.
• Availability to work at least 12 hours per week. (Weekdays, evenings, and weekends)

• A collaborative environment troubleshooting basic issues for UWM IT (Information Technology) services.

If chosen for this position, you will be trained to troubleshoot issues with UWM IT Services. You will also learn Help Desk processes and procedures. As you get more comfortable with the role, the expectation will be that you assist clients – students, faculty members and university staff, on and off campus – with their varying technical issues.

Consultants must work at least 12 hours weekly but may work up to 25 hours per week.

International students are required to meet the 12-hour weekly minimum but can only work up to 20 hours per week.

Help Desk Consultants work in person in Bolton Hall and Golda Meir Library.
