Staff Application Security Engineer

A large SaaS company in the insurance space is hiring a Staff Application Security Engineer to oversee a mission-critical platform. You’ll be hands on, building out their microservices architecture, writing and configuring API security, and build out their web application and penetration testing program. You’ll also be client-facing, working with stakeholders and C-suite executives, giving presentations and translating technical facts into layman’s terms.

Ideal candidates have at least 10 YOE in platform engineering, devops, devsecops, or application security. Candidates must have AWS experience, and have extensive experience with AWS cloud environments, including tooling and migration work. In terms of cybersecurity, work with offensive security, cloud security, or application security are needed. Due to the collaborative nature of this role, strong communication skills is required.

This role is fully remote.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10 years in devops, devsecops, application security, product security, or platform engineering
• Extensive experience with AWS, including tooling and migration work
• Strong experience with developing API security, including writing and configuring APIs, access controls, OAUTH, etc.
• Exposure to CI/CD security and Dev Sec Ops  best practices
• Ability to communicate clearly across engineering and non-technical teams, including stakeholders
