Affirmative Attorney Associate

Job Overview

Layde & Parra is looking to hire on an affirmative team associate that will play a critical leadership role within the firm’s immigration practice. This associate will directly supervise senior family and humanitarian paralegals and ensure that case strategies are executed effectively, workflows remain on track, and all legal work product meets the firm’s high standards of quality and integrity. • Lead and manage a team of two senior paralegals and four junior paralegals across family and humanitarian practice areas.
• Run team meetings, set case priorities, and ensure alignment with firm goals.

• Implement case strategies designed by the affirmative team lead.
• Troubleshoot and adapt within the overall strategy to address client needs and case developments.

• Oversee case progress to ensure completion within internal firm deadlines.
• Monitor task assignments and redistribute workload as needed to maintain efficiency.

• Review all legal work product (forms, affidavits, motions, briefs, supporting documents) before filing.
• Ensure accuracy, compliance, and consistency with firm standards.

• Provide ongoing training, guidance, and mentorship to paralegals.
• Foster professional growth and skill development within the team.

• Attend all USCIS interviews with clients.
• Participate in periodic court hearings as required by case strategy.

• Education & Licensure:
  Juris Doctor (JD) and active bar membership.
• Experience:
  
  Minimum of 3 years practicing in family and humanitarian immigration law.

• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent legal writing and review skills.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (required).
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
