ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Handle federal and state employment-related litigation before administrative agencies, including administrative hearings in front of the Wisconsin Equal Rights Division and the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Counsel.
  • Provide day‑to‑day counseling on compliance with state and federal fair employment laws with respect to personnel policies, compensation practices, internal compliance and investigation and other workforce matters.
  • Provide restrictive covenant counseling and litigation support.
  • Provide support on employment matters related to corporate business transactions, including due diligence, purchase agreement drafting, pre‑ and post‑acquisition employee transitions and related employment agreements.
  • Draft employment‑related contracts, including confidentiality agreements, restrictive covenant agreements, independent contractor agreements and employment agreements.
  • Provide guidance and represent clients in labor law compliance and litigation, including the National Labor Relations Act, collective bargaining, arbitration, grievances, union avoidance, union organizing campaigns and unfair labor practice charges.
  • Provide guidance and represent clients in Occupational Safety & Health Act compliance and litigation, including on‑site inspections, defense of citations and enforcement actions.
  • Work collaboratively with other attorneys and support staff to provide high quality service to our clients.
  • Grow the labor & employment practice.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • J.D. from an ABA‑accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice or eligible for admission to practice in the State of Wisconsin.
  • Interest in a collaborative, intellectually stimulating environment with a strong desire to contribute to team and client success.
