Managing Director
Under the leadership of the President and in consultation with the MATC Foundation Board of Directors, the CEO provides executive leadership for the Foundation's strategic direction, governance, financial integrity, and institutional advancement functions. This executive role oversees Foundation operations, institutional grants strategy, alumni relations, and major gift development while serving as primary liaison between the Foundation Board and College leadership. As a member of the President's Cabinet, the CEO ensures alignment between Foundation priorities and institutional strategic goals while maintaining the Foundation's independence as a separate 501(c)(3) organization.
The CEO supervises a development staff team, a grants team, and organizes volunteers to actively cultivate, solicit, and secure contributions from individuals, corporations, foundations, and government grant funding while also building a robust alumni network.
- Foundation Executive Leadership and Governance: Serves as chief executive officer of the MATC Foundation, providing strategic direction and executive oversight of all Foundation operations. Leads Foundation Board of Directors in governance, policy development, and strategic planning. Serves as primary liaison between Foundation Board, College President, District Board Foundation Liaison, and senior college leadership. Plans and facilitates board meetings, prepares materials, ensures follow-through on board actions, and supports board recruitment and development.
Maintains governance policies and records in compliance with nonprofit best practices and IRS requirements. - Financial Strategy and Fiduciary Oversight: Provides executive leadership for Foundation's financial strategy, planning, and reporting in alignment with nonprofit and public institution best practices. Oversees Foundation budget development and management, annual independent audit coordination, and investment portfolio performance monitoring in partnership with the Finance and Investment Committee. Ensures transparent, compliant financial activities that support long-term Foundation sustainability. Serves as authorized signatory for major financial transactions, contracts, and official documents.
- Major Gifts and Strategic Philanthropy Leadership: Manages portfolio of major gift prospects and donors ($100,000+). Leads capital campaign planning and execution for multi-million dollar institutional initiatives. Develops planned giving strategies and legacy gift cultivation. Partners with the President and senior leadership in solicitation of transformational gifts. Creates comprehensive philanthropic strategies aligned with institutional priorities and community needs.
- Institutional Grants Strategy and Oversight: Provides strategic oversight and leadership for College's institutional grants portfolio. Directs grant acquisition strategy and aligns opportunities with College priorities. Ensures development of diverse portfolio of grant‑making foundations and external funding sources. Oversees compliance with federal, state, and foundation grant requirements and reporting standards. Approves grant applications exceeding $50,000 and ensures rigorous compliance with grant‑specific regulations.
- Alumni Relations Strategy and Development: Develops and implements comprehensive alumni engagement strategy to build lifelong connections with graduates. Oversees alumni database development and management systems. Creates alumni giving programs and recognition initiatives. Partners with academic divisions to develop alumni mentorship and networking programs that support student success and institutional advancement.
- Institutional Advancement and External Relations: Serves as College ambassador to elevate institutional profile as vital economic and educational anchor. Represents Foundation and College at high‑level community events and functions. Develops strategic partnerships with business, industry, and community leaders. Maintains currency on career technical education trends and institutional programs to effectively promote MATC mission and impact.
