Accounting Supervisor

Under the direction of the CFO, the Accounting Supervisor manages and oversees the daily operations of the accounting department while ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting. This role manages accounting staff, coordinates month‑end and year‑end close processes, ensures compliance with GAAP, and supports leadership with financial analysis and insights.

• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll activities
• Oversee and direct accounts receivable collections activity
• Maintain accurate fixed asset and depreciation records
• Manage and review monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Prepare and review general ledger reconciliations
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Prepare and review weekly dashboards for executive team
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements
• Supervision and management of accounting staff to include: recruiting and hiring, mentoring, identifying development and training needs and implementing training for all employees, monitoring performance and providing continuous feedback and performance evaluations, and handing necessary discipline matters of employees up to and including termination, as needed
• Support preparation and filing of Sales and Use tax filings
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Support annual business insurance renewals and tax return preparation
• Identify and implement process improvements and accounting system enhancements
• Protect organization’s value by adhering to the highest level of of financial, payroll, and ownership activity

• Considerable skill in and ability to direct, manage, and mentor accounting team to achieve organizational and departmental goals
• Excellent organization and time management skills with strong attention to details
• Excellent analytical skills with ability to apply an appropriate solution
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages, and to apply concepts of basic algebra
• Ability to work independently, task switch, and prioritize tasks/projects
• Self‑motivated and committed to process improvement and efficiency
• Proficient knowledge of and skill in using the Microsoft Suite including Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills
• Very adaptable – responds effectively to changes in situation or information; ability to influence others and build consensus using good written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of and skill in using ERP software systems
• Knowledge of and skill in using HR/Payroll processing systems

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• 5 years of accounting and/or similar experience required
• Knowledge of and skill in using Business Central 365 a plus
• Experience in logistics and/or construction industries a plus
• Experience with ADP payroll processing a plus
