General Manager (Inventory Management Experience)
Pay Rate: $85,000+ (based on experience) and a Bonus Plan.
PurposeThe General Manager (“GM”) is responsible for implementing quality concepts throughout operational processes to make continuous improvements; supervising warehouse/vault operations and delivery service; ensuring proper staffing to meet customer demands; utilizing employees’ strengths to provide the best possible service for all customers; supervising operational personnel; and maintaining equipment and facility to achieve optimal performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Personnel Management: interview and screen job candidates, complete hiring process, train, evaluate, supervise, and reward personnel to develop employees to their fullest potential; train personnel on security and fire safety procedures; enforce attendance and other personnel policies; manage staffing during vacation, holiday, and absentee occurrences; and communicate via meetings and written communications so all operational shifts are kept informed.
- Quality Tracking and Improvement: participate fully in all facets of the company’s quality program, including development and training; monitor, track, and set goals for critical operational areas (e.g., on‑time deliveries, driver productivity, warehouse/vault productivity, paperwork accuracy, driver response time); communicate measurable performance goals and results and work toward continuous improvements; monitor driver efficiency and fuel usage and observe stops and idle times via vehicle GPS system.
- Facilities/Equipment Maintenance: manage vehicle maintenance, cleanliness, preventative maintenance scheduling, and expense control; keep warehouse/vault appearance clean and secure; control repairs and make replacement orders; manage scanner and related equipment; maintain rack space and evaluate need for additional rack.
- Inventory Control: ensure daily warehouse/vault operations maintain accuracy of stored items and timeliness of deliveries; audit daily paperwork; oversee and reconcile daily inventories of critical accounts; schedule and supervise bay audits and bay consolidations; verify and audit warehouse map for accuracy.
- Customer Service: provide courteous and attentive treatment of all customers, present a professional and positive image in person and over the phone; handle special requests and resolve customer problems; update and distribute delivery schedules.
- Compliance: meet all compliance requirements related to all operational functions of the facility.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Valid driver’s license with clean MVR and clean background check.
- College degree.
- 3–5 years of supervisory experience, demonstrating ability to manage and motivate others.
- P&L experience preferred.
- Strong financial acumen.
- Experience in a B2B service industry work environment.
- Problem‑solving skills to address people and process challenges.
- Detail‑oriented work style to identify discrepancies.
- Organizational skills to meet critical deadlines and schedule resources.
- Willingness to take responsibility for daily operations after hours or on unscheduled workdays.
- Ability to do physical work when necessary.
- Commitment to be a key leader in a disaster recovery environment and to embrace the unique requirements of servicing both internal and external customers.
