** Position Summary
** We are a precision gear manufacturer serving industries such as aerospace, defense, and heavy equipment. Our team is built on craftsmanship and innovation, and we’re seeking a skilled
** Turning Machinist
** with 5+ years of experience to join our production floor. This role focuses on operating both manual and CNC turning equipment to machine gear blanks, shafts, and other round components to tight tolerances.
** Key Responsibilities
*** Set up and operate turning machines (manual and CNC) to produce gear-related components
* Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T specifications
* Select appropriate tooling, adjust feeds and speeds, and ensure optimal surface finish
* Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other precision instruments
* Make program edits and offsets on CNC lathes when required
* Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve machining challenges
* Maintain machine cleanliness, perform routine maintenance, and follow safety protocols
** Qualifications
* ** Minimum 5 years of experience in turning operations, including manual and CNC lathes
* Strong understanding of machining principles and gear component geometry
* Familiarity with Mazak CNC controls and Mazatrol programming is a plus
* Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and inspection standard
* Experience working with hardened materials and maintaining tight tolerances
* High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred
