DescriptionDuties and Tasks:
- Ensures safe work environment and practices within the CNC department.
- Abides by 5S and Lean Manufacturing in the CNC department.
- Assists with the design and building of CNC fixtures.
- Responsible for programming jobs assigned.
- Responsible for completing first article reports on programmed parts.
- Collaborates with QC to ensure quality and to create in-process QC checks.
- Collaborates and communicates effectively with Production side to support priorities for customer and production needs including smooth workflow and efficient completion of projects.
- Responsible for developing process sheets and work instructions for programmed CNC parts.
- Manages engineering emails and files, blueprints and sold models into correct folders.
- Backs up files monthly.
- Drives continual improvement by decreasing CNC cycle times and set-up turnover metrics by increasing CNC efficiencies while increasing quality. Record results.
- Responsible for training and development of CNC set-up personnel.
- Knowledge of cutting tools a plus.
- Other tasks as assigned by management.

Education / Experience
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Associates or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3+ years CNC programming experience.
- 5 Axis programming skills are a needed.
- Proficient with Mastercam
- Quality Control (QC) experience. (Measuring equipment, best practices)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Understand Metric and English systems and how to convert.
Language Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, production schedules, purchase orders, maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Ability to write reports, procedural manuals, and correspondence.
- Able to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, management, and other employees.
Mathematical & Reasoning Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
- Able to practical problem solve and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Able to interpret a variety of specifications and information furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
