As a skilled Production Welder you will be counted on to repair parts and cases at our facilities. You will operate appropriate equipment to restore mechanical structures or parts with a great deal of precision. Your job is important to ETE as it provides the foundation for strong infrastructure both in our finished product and our buildings. A welder must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions.
You will have a steady hand and pay great attention to detail. Knowledge of various kinds of metal and their properties is essential for success in this role.
- Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
- Set up components for welding according to specifications
- Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
- Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
- Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions
- Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
- Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
- Suggest improvements, help train new personnel, communicate all issues, work overtime when needed
- Follow directions from team leads, supervisors and managers, be proactive and helpful
- Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment, be at your workstation on time daily

- Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship program or three years experience
- Proven experience as welder
- Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (GMAW, GTAW etc.)
- Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
- Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use personal protective equipment (face-shield, gloves, mask etc.)
- Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) will be a plus
- Must be 18 years old, high school diploma preferred, detail oriented, automotive/mechanical ability a plus
- Willingness and understanding you will get dirty at times, and may have to work with chemicals
- Skill and ability of working with your hands, manual tools (must provide your own) and other instruments
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand & work on your feet for 8+ hours a day and under pressure at times
- Have a Can-Do Attitude, with good time management, communication and decision-making skills
- Self-starting and motivated; believe in teamwork and uphold the ability to always help others
- Adhere to all safety rules, give it your all every day, must have regular, reliable, and predictable attendance
