Set-Up Machine Operator - Lock Washer

ITW Shakeproof Fasteners is a division of Illinois Tool Works (ITW) that supplies cold‑headed and metal stamped fasteners, generating approximately $200 M in annual revenue. Manufacturing and warehouse locations include Watertown, WI, Milwaukee, WI, Broadview, IL, Elgin, IL, Machesney Park, IL, and Iron Ridge, WI. We serve major OEMs and tier suppliers through direct and distribution channels in the industrial market.

Set up and operate machines to produce high‑quality fasteners while meeting on‑time delivery, productivity, safety, quality, and housekeeping metrics. Usual manufacturing environment with moderate physical activity.

• Set up, adjust, and operate high‑speed and low‑speed machines.
• Set up, adjust, and operate auxiliary equipment to perform operations with close dimensions, shape, and contour.
• Align and secure dies, locate stops, adjust forming speeds, and set part forming rolls or dies, safety devices, etc.
• Install tools and other tooling needed and adjust as needed.
• Work from drawings, manufacturing instructions, and control plans.
• Use a variety of precision measuring instruments.
• Operate multiple machines or machines capable of performing multiple operations.
• Load raw materials to feeder mechanisms, clear jams, or address malfunctions.
• Train and learn how to set up/operate equipment.
• Work safely, recommend changes to processes and equipment to improve safety and efficiency (safety program initiative).
• Analyze and communicate productivity metrics (pcs/hr), changes, and improvements.
• Work with minimal supervision.
• Perform other duties or projects as assigned.

• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Mechanical ability and knowledge of tools and machinery.
• Ability to focus and prioritize tasks and objectives.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to lift or pull up to forty (40) pounds.
