Unit and Role Context11
CFAC is an inpatient step-down unit dedicated to providing specialized care for patients in need of surgical services from Vascular Surgery, ENT, and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery. The unit supports a dynamic and collaborative nursing culture, caring for a wide range of complex cases (e.g., amputations, bypasses, tracheostomies, DIEP flaps).
The Registered Nurse is a practitioner responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for an identified group of patients in an inpatient environment. This role primarily serves an adult population.
Responsibilities (summary)Provide care for patients in an inpatient setting on an inpatient step-down unit, including perioperative and post-operative nursing care for surgical services.
Experience DescriptionClinical competence and experience in the care and management of target patient populations specific to the area of employment.
Education DescriptionProfessional nursing knowledge acquired through completion of an accredited School of Nursing. BSN or higher degree preferred. Non-BSN RNs with less than one year of RN licensure at hire must enroll in a BSN (or higher) program with acceptance expected within 15 months and completion within 5 years (6 years if MSN/DNP/PhD in Nursing).
Licensure DescriptionCurrent Wisconsin RN license or a Multi-state License from a Nurse Licensure Compact participating state. American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers or equivalent required within 90 days of hire.
