CLINICAL NURSE SPEC-CERT, FH NEUROSCIENCES
Job Summary: The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in Neurosciences provides expert clinical guidance, leadership, and consultation to enhance patient care outcomes for patients with neurological conditions. The CNS serves as a clinical expert, consultant, and leader, supporting evidence‑based practice, quality improvement, and the integration of innovative interventions in a neurosciences setting. The CNS is a licensed registered nurse who holds graduate preparation (master’s or doctorate) in nursing as a Clinical Nurse Specialist, provides comprehensive care, supports nursing professional development, and leads redesign of systems to improve access, quality, and safety in a cost‑effective manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical practice and patient care in the neurosciences setting.
- Program design and development to enhance patient and family outcomes.
- Consultation and interdisciplinary collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
- Leadership in evidence‑based practice, quality improvement, and innovation.
- Education and training of nursing staff.
- Research and monitoring of patient outcomes for clinical effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Licensed registered nurse in Wisconsin.
- Master’s or DNP degree in Nursing from a CNS accredited program.
- Certification as a Clinical Nurse Specialist required within 1 year (or appropriate work experience if prior to June 2011).
- Certification in a clinical specialty area preferred.
- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) or equivalent required within 90 days.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
