Staff – Registered Nurse (RN)
Location:

Duration: 3 Months+ (Possibility of Extension)
Job SummaryThe Registered Nurse collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health and/or the situation.
Job Responsibilities- Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues.
- Identify expected outcomes for an individualized patient plan.
- Develop plans that prescribe strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes.
- Implement the identified plan and evaluate progress toward outcomes.
- Integrate evidence and research findings into nursing practice.
- Utilize current evidence-based nursing knowledge to guide practice and initiate changes.
- Participate in the formulation of evidence-based practice through research, as appropriate.
- Contribute to quality nursing practice through creativity and innovation.
- Identify practice aspects important for quality monitoring and use benchmarks to assess quality, safety, and effectiveness.
- Apply the PDSA model to improve nursing practice and patient outcomes.
- Participate in or lead interprofessional teams to evaluate clinical care and health services.
- Participate in efforts to minimize costs and eliminate unnecessary duplication.
- Identify and correct process inefficiencies in daily work routines.
- Respond consistently and promptly to patient call lights and needs.
- Utilize appropriate resources to deliver safe, effective, and financially responsible nursing care.
- Assess patient care needs and available resources to achieve desired outcomes.
- Identify potential harm, task complexity, and outcomes when allocating resources.
- Delegate elements of care appropriately in accordance with legal and policy requirements.
- Advocate for resources and technology that enhance nursing practice.
- Modify practice to promote positive interaction between patients, care providers, and technology.
- Collaborate with the Flow Coordinator, Shift Coordinator, and hospital leadership to manage patient flow.
- Practice in an environmentally safe and healthy manner and promote reduction of environmental health risks.
- Assess practice environments for factors that may threaten health, such as noise, light, and odor.
- Advocate for judicious use of healthcare products and communicate environmental health risks.
- Utilize scientific evidence to evaluate environmental threats and participate in strategies to promote healthy communities.
- Assess personal communication skills in interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Attains knowledge and competence reflecting current nursing practice.

- Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice acquired through completion of an accredited School of Nursing and eligibility for Registered Nurse licensure.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Current State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or Multi-state Nursing License from a participating NLC state.
