*** This is a part time 12 hour night shift with every 3rd weekend and a holiday rotation.
** Seeking candidates with minimum of 1 year NICU experience to be considered for part time schedule.
** Orientation will be full time for up to 6 months depending on experience level and could be on any shift based on preceptor assignments.
- straight 12 hour nights. 19-0730- earn an hourly night bonus (in addition to shift differentials) after successfully completing orientation
These schedules include an every 3rd weekend rotation and a holiday rotation.
** These are set assigned 6 week cyclic schedules.
** We may have openings for part time
** WEEKEND PROGRAM
** on days or nights (EVERY Fri,Sat, Sun on Days OR EVERY Sat/Sun and one shift during the week for nights.) eligibility to participate in bonus program on weekend program after completing orientation.
Weekend program staff also have a holiday rotation.
Must be willing to commit to hired schedule for at least 18 months after completing orientation.
** 6+ years wait to get to straight regular days schedule due to the size of the unit and team.
**** The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is a 76-bed unit
** designed for the individualized care of critically ill newborns and their families from admission to discharge. These infants are admitted from a diverse geographical area for specialized medical and/ or surgical needs.
These infants and families are cared for by a unique blend of interdisciplinary caregivers: neonatal nurses, neonatal nurse practitioners, lactation consultants, human milk technicians, physicians, OT/PT and speech therapists, respiratory care practitioners, social workers, pharmacists, dieticians and internal case managers.
Responsibilities include being a partner in the care management team, providing coordination and management of patient care to pediatric patients and families within a continuum of care and delegating patient activities as appropriate within a care management assignment. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing in order to meet the recommended entry level for a professional nurse (or equivalent academic and/or professional experience).
A license to practice professional nursing in the State of Wisconsin. NRP certification within 1 year of employment.
Job Summary Performs as a partner in the care management team. Provides coordination and management of patient care to pediatric patients and families within a continuum of care. Delegates patient care activities as appropriate within a care management assignment. Functions within professional and hospital standards.
Essential Functions - Nursing Process: applies principles of growth and development in obtaining assessment data; communicates in manner most appropriate for child and family; identifies and acts upon overt and covert cues of physical, psychosocial and cognitive parameters for an individual; makes independent nursing decisions and integrates medical plan of care. Performs point of care testing and blood collections according to established policies.
